A Sound Personnel Policy is very essential for the success of any organisation either public or private so for as a public enterprise like APSRTC. Personnel Management is that part of the management function that is concerned with people at work and with their relationships within an enterprise. Its aim is to bring together and develop into an effective organization, the men and women who make up an enterprise and having regard to the well-being of an individual and of working groups, to enable to make their best contribution to its success. Planning, organizing, motivating and controlling are all basic managerial functions. Personnel Management is also known as the Human Resources Management today. The HRM function includes a variety of activities, recruiting and training the best employees, ensuring they are high performers, dealing with performance issues, managing employee benefits and compensation, employee records and personnel policies. Following a thorough review of literature published on stakeholder theory, ethical behaviour in organizations, and small and medium-sized companies, five hypotheses are put forward on which the model is based. The results of three case studies on owner-managed micro-enterprises from the Belgian beer producing industry are used to test the validity of the model and the hypotheses.The results of the case studies on Belgian micro-breweries support the major part of the proposed SME stakeholder management model and the hypotheses it is based on. The perception of legitimate stakeholders is based on the personal ethics of the owner-manager. These are determined by the owner-manager's preference for a certain normative core and his stage of cognitive moral development. Micro and small enterprises are long recognized as important vehicles of economic diversification, employment creation, income generation and distribution, and poverty alleviation. As a result, micro and small enterprises occupy a prominent position in the development agenda of Ethiopia. The main objective of this study was to examine factors affecting the development and promotion of micro and small enterprises in Nekemte town. The total population of the study was 504 micro and small enterprises operating in the town.Five sectors (construction, manufacturing, urban agriculture, trade and service) were used as a stratum. This study investigates the challenges facing the management of public enterprises in the Democratic of Congo. The study is based on the hypothesis that poor performance by state-owned enterprises in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has been influenced by inadequate management which has led to the dissatisfaction of citizens. Due to this problem increasing attention is being paid by the DRC Government to encouraging private sector involvement in services such as water and electricity. This study investigates the arguments for and against privatization, especially in the water and electricity sectors. In pursuing this debate the study explores the following main research question: To what extent will the DRC Reform Law aimed at transforming the commercialisation of public enterprises enhance the effectiveness of basic services such as water and electricity services in the DRC? A case study of the city of Bukavu in the eastern DRC is used to explore this question. The study is largely based on qualitative and descriptive research methods.

Looking at globalization and the present economical recession, the pressure on small and medium sized businesses rises continually. In the Federal Republic of Germany, the entirety of medium sized businesses play a vital role with respect to macroeconomics. The few empirical examinations on the status quo concerning the application of business-management methods, in particular application of planning systems in small and medium sized businesses make it clear that systematic planning and application of business-management methods in those enterprises is insufficient. In particular enterprises with a turnover of up to 10 m. Euro have shown considerable deficits regarding the application of business-management methods used for running an enterprise.

Master's Thesis from the year 2009 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, grade: 17/20 (1,3), Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, course: International Master in Management Science, language: English, abstract: This study derives a model of stakeholder management in small and medium-sized enterprises which describes the process from the owner-managers' personal ethics to the firm's eventual engagement with its stakeholders. Following a thorough review of literature published on stakeholder theory, ethical behaviour in organizations, and small and medium-sized companies, five hypotheses are put forward on which the model is based. The results of three case studies on owner-managed micro-enterprises from the Belgian beer producing industry are used to test the validity of the model and the hypotheses.The results of the case studies on Belgian micro-breweries support the major part of the proposed SME stakeholder management model and the hypotheses it is based on. The perception of legitimate stakeholders is based on the personal ethics of the owner-manager. These are determined by the owner-manager's preference for a certain normative core and his stage of cognitive moral development. Perceived stakeholders will possess power over the company and/or have a legitimate moral or legal claim on the firm.
